Passed peacefully away at the Dr.G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on March 4, 2011, Ira Carson Watton, age 84 from Petley, Random Island. Predeased by parents, William and Elsie (nee - Jacobs); son, Thomas; granddaughter, Margaret; brother, John and sister, Audrey Marsh. Leaving to mourn his wife of 66 years, Nellie (nee Penny); sons, Oliver (Frances), Calvin (Maureen), Bill (Donna), Wilson (Juanita), Paul (Florence) and Everett (Pearl); daughters, Gladys (Bill) and Marcie (Max); brothers, Roy (Linda), Winston (Eileen) and Lester (Jemima); sister-in-law, Binah Watton; 21 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour, Random Island. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Vera Abbott, took place on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from the United Church, Britannia with interment following.
