Norma McNutt

McNutt, Norma Geraldine, of Bible Hill passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 6, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, March 10, 1940, she was a daughter of Margaret (Cavanaugh) McNutt, Debert, and the late Blair McNutt. Norma attended school in Eastmines, Debert as well as Success Business College and Mount St Vincent. She was an employee of Crossley Carpet Mills Limited, Truro for 35 years where she worked in the accounting and credit department. During her retirement Norma enjoyed attending church, knitting, crocheting, card marking and traveling with her mother and brother. She traveled to Texas, Alaska, California and 10 provinces, 1 territory and 46 states. She will be sadly missed by a wide circle of relatives and friends.
Besides her mother, Norma is survived by her son Scott (Cindy), Debert; her daughter Heather Dyson, Georgetown ON; grandsons, Brandon and Chris; brothers, Glenn, Debert, Dale, Great Village; nephews, Kelly, Perry, and Cory McNutt. She also leaves behind her feline friend Molly.
Besides her father, Norma was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Emily McNutt.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9pm, Wednesday and funeral service 2 pm Thursday, in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Corey Summers will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Middle Road Cemetery, Debert. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
