The death of Jeanne Guimond occurred on March 6th, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born May 31st, 1927 in St. Eleutere, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Madelaine (Morin) Marchand and wife to the late Sylvain Guimond. Jeanne is survived by her children, George Guimond (Sherrill) of Forest City, NB, Marilyn McFadzen (Bill) of Maquapit Lake, NB, Daniel Guimond (Monique) of Lincoln, NB, Paul Guimond of Toronto, ON, Phillip Guimond (Jeanette) of Toronto, ON, Jocelyn Calderhead (Daniel) of Coquitlam, BC and Esther Guimond (Don Chamberlain) of Courtenay, BC; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Eliane Marchand, Lorette Landry (Ignace), Philippe Marchand (Antoinette), Pauline Morin (Robert) and Paul Marchand (Mythel). She is predeceased sisters Majella Marchand, and Claire Ouelette (Leonard).
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lincoln on Thursday, March 10th, 2011 at 12 noon with Fr. Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jeanne may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
