The family of James ‘Jim’ Pottle are sad to announce his sudden passing on Sunday, March 6, 2011.
Born and raised in Sydney, Jim was the son of the late James and Lavina Pottle.
He was a member of Church of Christ the King, Sydney.
Jim will be sadly missed by his son, Thomas (Lee), Sydney; daughter, Wanda (Harry), Halifax; granddaughters, Sarah (Dan), Toronto and Emilie (Michael), London, England. He is also survived by his brother, Donald (Carmen), Sydney.
Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his wife, Wanda ‘Cookie’ (Doolan); brother, Bill; sisters, Alma, Georgina, Stella and Ada.
He enjoyed his career at NSPC, but decided to retire early to provide loving long-term care to his wife, ‘Cookie’. Jim’s pride and joy were his grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ the King on Wednesday 2 p.m., with Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the King Church or a charity of one’s choice.
