Beulah Jane Patterson, 80, of Sydney, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, following a brief illness.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late John and Cedella Wells.
She is survived by her three children, John (Eileen), New Campbellton, Donald, Sydney and Elizabeth (David), Sydney; three grandchildren, Matthew, B.C., Christine (Lefebvre) and Kathleen, Halifax, as well as, one great-grandchild, John-Pierre Lefebvre, Halifax. She is also survived by her sisters, Bernice Lumsden and Sheila King and brothers, Earl Wells and Randolph Wells, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Robson Patterson and also her sisters, Thelma and Sally.
For the past few years, Beulah resided in Harbourstone Enhanced Care. Before that, she lived in Fall River with her son, John and in Sydney, where she and Norman raised their family. She was a devoted parent and caregiver, spending most of her life taking care of others. Beulah loved growing flowers, especially perennials.
A celebration of Beulah’s life will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on the evening of Thursday, March 10 from 7-9 p.m. Interment will take place at Hardwood Hill Cemetery at a later date.
