Carlyle: Martha Irma, 88, passed away June 22, 2009 at Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born February 21, 1921 in Kemptown, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Laura (Felleman) MacCallum. She is survived by sister, Nora Johnson, Salmon River; sisters-in-law, Marion MacCallum, Truro; Vera Carlyle, Toronto; grandchildren, Beverly Saulnier, Truro; Paul Adshade (Cindy), Truro; Joy Bretzer (Daniel), Cole Harbour; Dawna Roach (Steve), Milford; step-daughter, Donna, Cape Nreton; many many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Percy Carlyle; daughter, Marlene Adshade; brothers, Arthur and Wesley; sister-in-law, Jean MacCallum; brother-in-law, Ivan Johnson; step-son, Clarence Carlyle; grandson, Terry Adshade. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. A graveside service and interment will be held 6:30pm Monday, July 20, in the Crossroads Cemetery, Valley, with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating.
