ALLEN, Clara Elizabeth “Betty” - 83, of Wolfville, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 in Annandale Rest Home, Wolfville. Born in Port Greville, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Pearle (Winter) Morris. She had attended Mount St. Vincent and later worked for the Royal Bank in Parrsboro and the Parrsboro Lumber Company. Following this, she was employed at Acadia University for 23 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Grace United Church, Port Greville; the Rebekah Lodge, Wolfville and was involved with volunteer work for the V.O.N. and the Senior Citizens Secretariat. The real joy in her life was spending time with her two granddaughters. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou (David) Power, Pereaux; two granddaughters, Alison (Fenwick) Jeffrey, Quispamsis, New Brunswick; Katherine Power, Pereaux; longtime companion, Roy Williams, Wolfville; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth M. Allen; two sisters, Louise Spencer and Annie, in infancy; three brothers, Roy, Bill and Jack. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, Reverend Doctor Mark Parent officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Port Greville. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Wayne Phillips, the V.O.N. Palliative Care Team, the staff at the Annandale Rest Home and the staff of the White Family Funeral Home.
