Ross Borden Hunter 74 years of Springhill, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at his residence. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the Late George M. and Marion P. (Fife) Hunter



Ross started his working career at an early age working along side his father in the woods as a lumberman, then working with the Canadian Guards and The Canadian Military Police and ended his working career with Cumberland Paving after working with them for over 30 years. Ross loved to tinker with tools and machinery, four wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, the outdoors, his cat Bubbles, his family and friends.



He will be sadly missed by brothers, Raymond (Bonnie) Hunter, Quesnel, BC and Donald (Dora Pettigrew-Pyke) Maine, Leamington; sisters, Dorothy (George) Murphy, Oshawa, Margaret (Harold) Ayer, Parrsboro and Phyllis Smith, Cottonwood, BC; several nieces and nephews.



He was predeceased by his wife the former Dorothy E. Guthro; brother, Richard; brother in law, Cleve Smith.



Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation was held 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 Thursday. Funeral Service held 2:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2011 from the Funeral Home with The Reverend Wayne McCarther officiating. Burial in Leamington Cemetery at a later date.
