The death occurred peacefully at the Prince Edward Home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, of Verna Muriel Stewart in her 90th year.
Born on February 23, 1922, at Springfield West, she was the youngest and last surviving child of George F. and Edith (MacDougall) Ellis.
Verna is lovingly remembered by her son J. Kaye Stewart (Eileen), Charlottetown; by her grandchildren, Andrew Stewart (Jodi), Campbellton; Sarah Clark (Fraser), Charlottetown; Matt Stewart (Brandy), Charlottetown; and by her two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Maggie Stewart. She is also remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, Charlottetown, from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. Interment later in People’s Cemetery, Charlottetown.
Visitation Thursday 5-7 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Stroke Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital or to the Prince Edward Home.
