It is with great sadness that the family of Danny Saunders announces his death on March 3, 2011 after a brief illness at the Northern Lights Hospital in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Danny was born on May 23, 1955 in Fredericton, NB and was the son of the late Irvine and Elsie (Fullarton) Saunders. Danny is survived by his three children; Carrie (Dennis) Marr, Kelly (Ted) Reader, Bradley (Donna) Saunders and five grandchildren Robyn and Colin Tucker, Jackson and Gracie Reader and Julia Saunders. He will also be sadly missed by his two sisters, Jean (Russell) Fullarton and Joanne (Ed) Peterson and two brothers, Brian (Sandra) Saunders and Kevin (Susan) Saunders as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Danny was predeceased by one brother Keith. In his early years in Fredericton Danny worked for Auto Machinery and then as a heavy equipment operator for Colwell and Ross Construction and Warren Dunn Construction. For the past thirteen years he has lived in Fort McMurray where he worked as a heavy equipment operator and as a private trucker. With his quick wit and winning personality he leaves behind a host of friends and co-workers both in Fredericton and Fort McMurray.
There will be no visitation by request but family will greet relatives and friends following the Memorial Service which will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, 512 Charlotte Street, Fredericton, NB with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating. The Honourary pallbearers for the service are Ronnie Graham, Joey McSorley, Donnie MacTavish, Arthur Hurley, Jerry Wiggins and Jim Carlisle. In lieu of flowers donations in Danny’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
