Lyle Keith LaRose of Swift Current, Saskatchewan and formerly of Eastend died suddenly in Swift Current, SK on March 2, 2011. He was born in Shaunavon on April 12, 1942. Lyle graduated in 1960 from Eastend High School. He lived on the old Rinky place with his family and worked there most of his life and was the backbone of the family farm for many years. In 2004, he moved to Swift Current, to enjoy his hobbies of hunting, woodworking, leatherwork, painting and playing cards. He worked many years on the Eastend History Book and took great pride in supporting the Eastend Museum. His symbol was the eagle, which represented courage and strength. He often wore black for all the underprivileged and handicapped, poor fellow beings in his life. He left many legacies of kindness without acclamation or reward. He was predeceased by his father Leo in 1972, mother Delores in 2000, sister Marlene in 2002 and special friend Helen in 2007. He is survived by one nephew and a foster son Amanga in West Africa and many family members all across Canada and the United States. Funeral Services were held at Eastend Memorial Hall on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ken Schrag officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at a later date. Urn bearer was Curtis Wills. Memorial donations may be made to the Eastend Historical Society in care of Binkley’s Funeral Service. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon was in charge of the arrangements.
