Lee Wood
The death of Lee Wood, age 74, of Salt Springs, occurred at the All Saints Hospital, Springhill on Saturday, July 11, 2009. Born in Westchester, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Grace (Adams) Higgins.
A loving homemaker who enjoyed her family, she worked for many years at Stanfield's in Oxford and the Crop Shop in Springhill.
Lee will be sadly missed by her husband, Stanley; 3 sons, Bert (Betty), Amherst, Guy (Yolande), Truro and Clinton (Sarah), Truro; 6 daughters, Eileen (Wayne) Hewitt, Wallace, Darlene (Tom) Haywood, Sackville, NS, Priscilla Murphy, Bible Hill, Lorna (Bernie Daisley) Wood, Springhill, Reta (Peter) Crowe, Truro and Dorothy (Allan) MacPhee, Springhill; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Tom and Gary (Maria) Higgins; 4 sisters, Marjorie Newman, Winnie (Dennis) Spencer, Mary George and Jewell (Fred) Beazley; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a great grandson, Johnathan and a sister Lil.
Lee's remains have been entrusted into the care of the AH Brown Funeral Home, Springhill (597-2361), from where visitation will be held on Monday from 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday July 14, 2009 at 2 pm. Burial in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
