NICKERSON, Edith Frances – In loving memory of my dear wife, and our mother and grandmother, who passed away in Tidal View Manor in Yarmouth, on March 8, 2011. Born October 11, 1927 in Cape Sable Island, Shelburne Co., she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Adrie (Nickerson) Atwood. She is survived by husband, George Nickerson, Yarmouth; daughters, Sharon (Mike) Murphy, Little River; Marsha (Gerald) Richard, Wedgeport; Andria (Leroy) Rodgerson, Brooklyn; sons, Collie (Eleanor) Nickerson, Little River; Phillip (Geraldine) Nickerson, Wedgeport; Christopher (Deanna) Nickerson, Plymouth; brothers, Abner, Cape Sable Island; Warren, PEI; Anson, Beaverdam, Shelburne Co.; Rawleigh, Shelurne Co.; sisters, Mildren Cox, Southside, Cape Sable Island; Donna (Donnie) Shand, Truro; Carolyn, Alberta; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Samuel Jr., Richard, Sable and Sheldon; sister, Viola; granddaughter, Connie Murphy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. A memorial service was held Friday, March 11 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A. D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Interment followed in Arcadia Cemetery. Donations in Edith’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
