Arthur Price
Arthur W. Price - Passed peacefully away at the North Haven Manor, Palliative Care Unit, on Friday, March 4, 2011, Arthur Wesley (Wes) Price at the age of 88. Wes was a native of Twillingate, but lived in Lewisporte for most of his life. It was in Twillingtae that he met and married Amy Anstey and together they raised six children. Amy predeceased him on Aug. 1, 2004. Left to mourn are his six children Edna (Earl) Martin of LaScie, Golda (Wallace) Squires of Embree, John (Neta) Price of LaScie, Patsy (Garfield) Martin of Lewisporte, Roma Barrett (Leon Ball) of Lewisporte and Alvin (Bonnie) Price of South Farmington, Nova Scotia. As well, Wes leaves 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Left to mourn also is a special friend Gladys Jenkins. Wes was a carpenter by trade and worked in many centers in Newfoundland including Gander, Buchans, Twillingate, St. Anthony, St. John’s, Grand Falls and Lewisporte. In Lewisporte he helped build the High School, Elementery School, the former Trade School, St. Matthew’s United Church, North Haven Manor as well as many homes in the community. His funeral took place on Monday, March 7 from St. Matthew’s United Church, Lewisporte with interment at the church cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Matthew’s United Church Cemetery Fund.
