Janet Marion Shaw [nee Byers]
25th. June 1938 – 3 rd. March 2011Passed peacefully away after a courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer, Janet Marion Shaw, aged 72. Predeceased by parents Russell and Ardie Byers, Sister Joan and Brother James. Mourning her loss are her husband Dave of 52 years, sons Patrick and Malcolm and daughter Teresa Dominie [Andrew], and her pride and joy, grandchildren Sarah and Jeremy of Pasadena, NL. Brothers Russell [Alice] and Paul and sister Jean, nieces and nephews [with whom she shared many adventures] and a large number of other relatives and friends. A former member of the RCAF, Scouts Canada [31 years], Glenwood Town Council [Mayor and Councillor], CWL., U.S. Navy Wives Club and many other community and charitable organizations and, until recently, an active member of the Glenwood/Appleton Women’s Institute. Rested at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander. Funeral Service was held Monday March 7th at 11:00 A.M. from St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Glenwood. Interment at a later date. The world has lost a kind and gentle soul whose love of life and sense of humour was never diminished by the insidious disease that took her from us. She loved and was loved in return. We will miss her
