ROBERTSON, Mary Ruth - 97, of Port Joli and Hunt’s Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool, on Thursday, March 3rd, 2011. Born August 25th, 1913, in Rockland, Shelburne County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sadie Page. Mary was a graduate of Normal College in 1931, she taught at several schools in Lunenburg, Queens and Shelburne Counties. Living most of her life in Port Joli and Hunt’s Point, she enjoyed quilting, crafts, playing cards and bingo. She was a member of the Port Joli United Church and Wesley United Church, Hunt’s Point and also the UCW. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her son Leon (Norma) of Liverpool; Grandchildren Michael of Coldbrook and Lisa (Donald) Parnell of Ottawa; Great-grandchildren: Katie (Jesse), Matthew, Jessica and Tammy; Great-great-grandson Dante; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband J. Earle; son Darrell; sisters Brenda Brinton, Addie Perry, Doris Decker, Marjorie Hardy; brothers Theodore, Lewis and Cyril. Funeral service was held Monday, March 7th, 2011 at in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Bethe Benjamin-Cameron officiated. Burial will be in Peaceful Hill Cemetery, Port Mouton.
