1912-2011 - Sackville - Anne Pearl Ward, age 98, of Sackville passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Dorchester, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Edith (Bowser) Ward. Anne was employed with Henderson's Pharmacy for many years, and then Sackville Memorial Hospital before she retired. She was very active at Main Street Baptist Church as a member of the Women's Missionary Society. Anne enjoyed traveling, camping, going on bus trips and spending time with family and friends. Anne is survived by several nieces and nephews. Anne was the last surviving member of her family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Raymond and Gerald; as well as a sister, Ruth.
Cremation has taken place under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Family and friends are invited to visit from 1 to 2 pm on Monday, March 14, 2011, with a memorial service to follow at 2 pm. Burial will take place in the Dorchester Rural Cemetery in the spring. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Anne may do so to the Sackville Food Bank.
