WHITTEN, Roland– (Veteran of the Korean War). Peacefully passed away at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 10, 2011, in his 86th year. He is now re-united with his wife May just eight days after her passing, and his parents Mabel & Fredrick Whitten, his brothers Clifford, Charles & wife Pearl and their sons David & Barry and his sisters Ada and Sylvia & her son Kenny. Survived by his sister-in-law Madeline Whitten and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of Ontario, Newfoundland, & Alberta. Poppy Rol will be sadly missed & loving remembered by Olga & Roly Whitten and their daughter Joanne Watters & husband Glenn (children Rachael, Sarah and Brian) and their son Glenn Whitten & wife Angie (children Ashley, Katelyn and Emily). He will be remembered by May’s son William Booth & wife Avis & their family. The late Mr. Roland Whitten will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Sunday, March 13th from 1 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 3 p.m. Private Family Interment: St. Andrew’s - St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia.
