Harry Marshall

Marshall, Harry Alton, 79, of Salisbury passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Moncton Hospital Thursday March 10, 2011. Born in Gowland Mountain he was a son of the late Blake and Wilda (Harrison) Marshall. Harry graduated from the former Elgin High School and attended Acadia University then worked for BA Oil Company and later became a financial planner retiring from the Investor's Group. He spent many years coaching hockey and fastball and taking his boys to their games. He was an active member of Five Points Baptist Church and throughout his life sang in numerous gospel groups. An avid western fan he enjoyed reading novels of the old west and was a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan. In retirement he volunteered many hours at the Salisbury Big Stop "Run for the Cure" Fundraiser and neighbourhood watch. Survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Judy (Kitchen); his sons Blake (Kathy) of Riverview, Martin (Valerie) of Fredericton, Allan (Tammy) of Salisbury; cherished grandchildren Natasha, Ruth, William and Logan; great grandsons Xavier and Landen. Survived also by a sister Alma Steeves; brothers Cecil, Otto and Perley (Elsie) and several nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters in law.
Predeceased by his grandson Karey; sister Edna Lewis and brothers James, Arthur and Guy.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Monday 6 to 9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be Tuesday March 15 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Shawn Kehoe officiating. Interment at Five Points cemetery at a later date. If desired memorials to the Five Point Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
