The death of Charles Read Lorway Sr., age 97 of Sydney, N.S. occurred on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at home.
Born in Sydney, N.S., he was the son of the late C. Richard Lorway of Sydney and Louise Lorne Read of Halifax.
Charlie is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren; his wife being the former Wayne McKie; two daughters, Judith MacKenzie and Eve McDermott; two sons, Charles and Richard.
He was predeceased by his son Jim.
Charlie was a loving husband and patriarch of his family. He was active in business and generous in support of his community and of many individuals. Charlie was much loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
There will be no visitation or funeral. The family plans a private memorial in future.
