Reginald Richardson
Born on Campobello, NB on October 9, 1934 he was the son of Reginald and Harriet (Homan) Richardson. He is survived by wife Marilyn (Waite), daughter Lucille Cline (Steven) and son Christopher (Cathy Perkins); four grandchildren, Ross, Travis, Macy and Riley; sisters Andrea (Ken), Gail (Douglas), Beth (Myles); brother Dana (Betty), brother in law Goldie Smith and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, infant daughter Jacqueline Lee; sisters Patricia Smith and Sharon (Barry). Growing up in Richardson, NB he later enlisted in the Canadian Army. After serving and returning home he worked on a sardine carrier with his brother in law Goldie. On July 9, 1961, he married Marilyn (Waite) starting his family. Most of his life was spent supplying the fishermen with his diving service which he did with dedication and pride, finishing his employment with the DOT and the DI school. During his diving career he discovered the wreck “Britannia” where some artifacts can still be seen at the Saint John Museum. With a spirit of adventure and always learning he enjoyed life to the fullest from building and flying his own ultra-lite to building and operating his own hovercraft. He even acquired his dream of sailing his Cape Dory in 2010. Music and friends also gave him much pleasure, from playing guitar in earlier years and starting the mandolin at age 69 he had the pleasure of meeting many new friends at bluegrass festivals. Always enjoying the water and island he and Marilyn spent 20 years collecting Indian arrowheads and artifacts with a collection better than most museums. More than anything, his love and kindness towards his family and friends was known to all who knew him. So much loved and missed, he leaves with us his legacy and lessons in life.
