It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Charles Morris at the Moncton City Hospital on March 12th, 2011 at the age of 50. Jim was born in Campbellton, NB, the son of Theresa Morris of Riverview and the late Graham Morris. Jim held a BA from St. Thomas University and an MPA from Carleton University. He was employed as Director of Business Development with Freedom 55 Financial. He held several industry related designations including certified financial planner (CFP), chartered life underwriter (CLU), chartered financial consultant (CFC), registered health underwriter (RHU) and financial management advisor (FMA). Jim loved travelling with his family and those memorable moments that come with spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors, especially his annual canoeing trips on the Restigouche River. He will be greatly missed by his wife, best friend and the love of his life, Andrea (O’Brien), sons Matthew (Nicholas) and Bryan. His mother, Theresa Morris; brother Michael, Ontario; sister Donna Jones (Cecil), New Maryland; parents-in-law, Terry and Connie O’Brien, Young’s Cove; sisters-in-law, Janice Robinson (Jamie) Alberta; Kathryn Copeland (Dan) Australia; brother-in-law Sean O’Brien (Corinna), Moncton as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Tuesday from 6pm till 9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday March 16, 2011at 1:30pm from the Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. Reception to follow the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Neurosciences Unit) or the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre (Oncology).
