It is with great sadness the family announce the unexpected death of Ronald Upshall of Kensington, PEI, formerly of Saint John, which occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Health Center in Charlottetown, PEI on Friday, March 11, 2011. Born in March of 1951 in St. John’s NL he was the son of Virtue (Scott) Upshall of St. John’s, NL and the late George Upshall. Ron was a Facilities Manager working for various industries including Food Production, Pulp and Paper, Shipbuilding and Oil Industries. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend; he enjoyed woodworking and working in his workshop. Besides his mother Virtue, Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Iris (Rice) Upshall of Kensington; his children Oral (Amanda) of Antigonish, NS and Robert (Sandra); grandchildren Daniel, Joshua and Aaron all of Summerside, PEI; brothers Wayne (Jill Richards) of Chamberlains, NL, Gary of St. John’s, NL and Roger (Nathalie Loisel) of Point Du Lac, PQ; sisters Cecelia Janes (Kevin) of Gould’s, NL, Jean Haynes (Paul) of Poole, ON, Barbara Stapleton (Brian Simmonds) of Hammonds Plains, NS, Bonnie Upshall (Del Celli) of Deep River, ON and Cathy Upshall (James Goth) of St. John’s, NL; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Calvary Temple, 83 Sydney Street, on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment to take place.
