Muriel Jane Conway
NORTH SYDNEY – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Jane Conway age 76, a resident of Cornwall Street, North Sydney, on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer.
Born in Grand Falls, Nfld., May 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Ella (Angel) March.
Muriel was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed working with crafts, playing cards, bingo, music, dancing, playing the harmonica and accordion, as well as her pets, Rocky and Pebbles.
Muriel opened her home and heart to many of her children's friends. She made them feel as if it was their home, and they loved her for this.
Muriel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Muriel is survived by her daughters, Diane (Harry) Healey, Sydney Mines; Jeanette Conway, North Sydney; son, Paul (Linda) Conway, Mount Uniacke; sisters, Sarah Burke, Montreal; Madeline March, North Sydney. She will be lovingly remembered by her precious grandchildren: Vicky, Jennifer, Amy, Jessica, Susan, Jacqueline, David, Deanna, Joel, and her seven great-grandchildren, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.
Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, David Hudson Conway; a son, Roy Conway; brothers, Frank and Walter March.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Muriel will then be transferred to the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday, followed by her funeral service at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Burial to take place at a later date in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
