Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Tuesday, March 8th, 2011, William Henry Thornhill of Fortune, age 87yrs. Predeceased by daughter Marion, son Glen, granddaughter Judyette, brothers Max, Jim and Percey, and daughter-in-law Margaret Thornhill, and sister Edna Slaney. Leaving to mourn: beloved wife Mary; children: daughter Edna(Alexander) Boland of Fortune, son Donald(Angela) Thornhill of Lamaline, son Henry Thornhill of Fortune, son Alexander(Gabrielle) Thornhill of Fortune, daughter Judy(Donald) Collins of New Brunswick, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sisters Susan Dunne and Gertrude Dunne. Also, a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Captain Charlene Hillier from the Salvation Army Fortune at 11am on Friday, March 8th. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Fortune. Music was provided by String Band. Pall Bearers were: Don Thornhill, Alex Thornhill, Glenn Thornhill,Henry Thornhill, John Thornhill, Terry Boland, Don Collins and Alex Boland.
