Rodolphe Cormier, 83, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Monday March 14, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital. Born on July 4, 1927 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Denis and Eulalie (Doiron) Cormier. Prior to his retirement he was the founder and proprietor of Cap-Pelé Construction Ltd. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Eveline (LeBlanc) Cormier; six daughters: Ginette Cormier (Normand), Patricia Gallant (Donald), Cécile Cormier, Géralda Boudreau (Ronald) and Murielle Vautour, all of Cap-Pelé and Gloria LeBlanc (Victor) of Trois-Ruisseaux; two sons: Gérard (Stella) of Cap-Pelé and Roger (Nicole Melanson) of Grand-Barachois; two sisters: Albina O’Brien of Shediac and Vitaline Vienneau of Cap-Pelé; two brothers: Jean (Isabel) of P.E.I. and Lionel (Catherine) of Shediac; 14 grandchildren: Caroline, Lise, Réjean, Mathieu, Joël, Julie, Odette, Jérémie, Véronik, Monica, Céline, Janelle, Albert and Jesse; six great-grandchildren: Yannick, Miguel, Mélanie, Chelsey, Rylan and Danica; and family pet Buddy. He is predeceased by one sister, Marie, and two brothers: Albénie and Adrice.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap Pelé (577-3297) on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure at 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse d'Avila R.C. Church, Cap Pelé, on Thursday March 17, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
