The death occurred peacefully, with family at his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, of Wayne MacMillan of Hunter River, age 67.
Wayne was beloved husband of Linda (Weeks); dear father of Leslie, Carolyn and Patricia Larkin (Dean); and cherished Grampie of Felicity, Zachary, Zoe, Kezley and Kirsten. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy MacKay and Sandra Hemmerling; brother, Gary (Gerri); sisters-in-law, Anna Turner (Myron), Mary Weeks and Linda Brinkman-Weeks; brother-in-law, Gordon Weeks (Louise); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, David (1977); his parents, Hilton and Loretta (Cullen) MacMillan; mother-in-law, Gertrude Day (Gordon); and brothers-in-law, Ray Weeks, Harry Weeks, Dr. Allan MacKay and Herb Hemmerling.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the Central Queens United Church, Hunter River on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
