WELLSCH- G. Harold passed away peacefully at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current on Monday the 13 th of July, 2009 at the age of 83 years. He was raised on the family farm in the Saskatchewan Landing area, and married Edith Higginson on the
19th of April 1954. They purchased their family farm located in the same RM and started their long time farming career. Harold enjoyed playing cards, dancing, music, bingo and board games. He was particularly adept at machinery repair and farm equipment
maintenance. Harold was an active member of the Stewart Valley Seniors Club, the Scandinavian Club of Swift Current and the Saskatchewan Seniors Association. Harold is predeceased by his father Maximillian Wellsch--1938, his mother Rose Wellsch (Neuner)--1975, his wife Edith Wellsch (Higginson)--2003, his sister Marion Esche--2009 and sister Dorothy Closs--2009. He is survived by his son Blaine Wellsch of Stewart Valley, daughter Dawn (Jim) Mills of Victoria, Grandson Stephen Mills (fiancee Desiree Landry) of Regina, Granddaughter Michelle (Tony) Martens of Borden, Great Granddaughter McKinley Martens and Great Grandson Zachary Martens both of Borden,
brother Frances Wellsch of Swift Current and brother Max (Gwen) Wellsch of Regina. The funeral service was held on Thursday the 16th of July 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Church officiated by Father James Owolagba. The ushers were Steve Sagadahl, Dean Johnson and Mark Carlson. The pallbearers were Brent Closs, Kelly Wellsch, Steve Wellsch, Larry Lockman, Stephen Mills and Michelle Martens. The interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery Swift Current Sk.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stewart Valley Seniors Centre or the Saskatchewan Mental Health Association. Warren\'s Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
