Gertrude Beatrice "Dimps" Hatton 85 years of Springhill, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Worthing, Sussex, England, she was a daughter of the late George and Gertrude Annie (Sinsbury) Randall.
First and foremost for Dimps was her family, they were always the most important part of her life. She was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 17 Ladies Auxiliary, Springhill Senior Citizens and she was an avid hockey fan.
She will be sadly missed by daughter, Shirley Veniott, Springhill; sons, Jim (Nancy), Moncton, Bruce (Donna), Brookdale and Paul (Belinda), Middle Sackville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and niece Lynn Randall, Worthing, England.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Ralph Hatton; sons, Dale, Rodger and Ralph; great granddaughter, Macy and brother Charles.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 2 pm until the time of the funeral. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 3 pm with Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery in the spring.
