Douglas Fraser

Douglas S. Fraser, 57, of Sherbrooke Road, Blue Mountain, passed away suddenly at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Howard and Annie (MacDonald) Fraser.
A life long resident of Blue Mountain, Douglas was a brother, uncle and friend to many.
Douglas was an active member of the Blue Mountain and District Volunteer Fire department, with more than 20 years service. Douglas was an elder of the Knox Presbyterian Church as well as a trustee for the Blue Mountain Cemetery. He worked at various jobs including Scott Maritimes and the Department of Highways.
Douglas was an active member in the community who always was willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by siblings; Marie (Brian Murphy), Bowmanville, Ontario; Dorothy (Andrew) Fraser, Blue Mountain; Donnie (Betty), Oshawa, Ontario; Carmen (Terry), St. Catherines, Ontario; Lloyd, Kamloops, BC; Viola (Sevan) Kirmiziyan, Scarborough, Ontario; Brent, Truro; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Bobby and Jimmy; sister-in-law, Flora and a nephew, Jeff.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday from Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain with Pat Wilson presiding, assisted by Rev. Calvin Crichton. Burial to take place in the Blue Mountain Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Douglas may be made to the Blue Mountain and District Fire Department or to the Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain.
