Linda MacLean, 62, of Glace Bay passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Brooks Power and Anne (Nedruban) Power.
Until her retirement in 2008, Linda was employed with Canada Post Corp.
She was an adherent of Knox United Church. Linda was a member of Theraputic Paws of Canada and she regularly visited the Seaview Manor with her dog, Sidney. She was also a volunteer with meals on wheels at Town House.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Allister; and her daughter, Allison (Andrew) Wadden; and her faithful companion, her dog, Sidney. Also surviving are cousin, Bill Brown (who was more like a brother), Burlington; brother-in-law; Grant and his wife Carol, who was not only her sister-in-law but her dear friend; brother-in-law, Donald (Cheryl), Sydney River; nephews, Allan MacLean (Jody), Rodney MacLean (Tracey), Mark MacLean (Micaela); niece, Suzanne MacQueen (Donald); grandnephews, Robert and Ian MacQueen and Findlay MacLean. Linda will also be sadly missed by her special circle of dear friends.
Visitation for Linda MacLean will be held at Patten Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Knox United Church on Monday, March 21 at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Finlayson officiating. Interment will be at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Grand Lake Road, Sydney.
