Irène Cormier, 96, wife of the late Antoine O. Cormier (1979), of Résidence Au Bénaise, Saint-Antoine and formerly of Sainte-Marie de Kent, passed away peacefully at the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Thursday March 17th, 2011. Born on March 18th, 1914 in Sainte-Marie de Kent, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and the late Elise (Léger) LeBlanc. She will be sadly missed by her six children; Angela Leger of Riverview, Rita Ouellet (Robert) of Moncton, Stella McDonald (Victor LeBlanc) of Saint-Paul, Florence Girouard (Roger Carbotte) of Winnipeg, Ulysse (Fernande) of Newington, Conn. Alonzo of Sainte-Marie de Kent, sixteen grandchildren, twenty four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn four sisters, Jeanne Bastarache of Saint-Maurice, Imelda Cormier, Cécile Bastarache both of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Aline Cormier of Bouctouche, two brothers, Ulysse (Stella) of Sainte-Marie de Kent and Normand (Iona) of Saint-Paul, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one son Léo-Paul, one daughter Antoinette, one sister Anna and two brothers Eric and Edgar.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Monday March 21st, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held the Sainte-Marie de Kent Church on Monday March 21st, 2011 at 7:00 pm with internment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
