Passed peacefully away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the age of 62 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years Sadie Genge; children: Paul (Kimberly) Genge and Sheri (Travis) Genge; grandson Kieran Genge; sisters: Pearl Dowden and Constance McLean, both of St. John’s; brothers: Samuel (Aggie) Genge of St. John’s and Steven Genge of Anchor Point. Porter was born in Newfoundland and lived most of his life there. His family will remember him mostly for his love of golf and his sense of humor that put everyone at ease. Following his wishes, his cremated remains will be scattered back home in Newfoundland.
