Mason Clewis
Clewis, Mason Evan,
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful son Mason at the Regina General Hospital on Wednesday, March 16th, 2011, surrounded by his family and close friends after a lengthy and courageous battle. Mason, at the tender age of 10, cherished son of Justin and Jade, best friend and brother of Kale. Mason will be lovingly missed by his grandparents Patty and Greg Lien, Sandra and Brian Hassler, great-grandparents Elmer and Betty Lien, and by his special uncles Jordan Lien and Collin Clewis. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mason was blessed with amazing talent that just came so naturally to him. Mason loved playing at the lake in the summer, playing hockey and skiing in the winter, but as an avid fencer, loved to sword fight, especially with his best buddy Ethan Brentnell. He loved the water and was an avid swimmer and a part of the Flying Fins. He was a fantastic drummer and spent many hours with his brother rocking it out to Rock Band or in the basement on his real set of drums. Mason was a great artist and spent many hours painting on canvas and doing crafts. He loved everything life had to offer him and always woke up with a smile ready and excited to face the day no matter what the day was to bring. His most treasured times were the ones spent with his family, playing with his friends, his many trips especially his wish trip to the Bahamas where he got to swim with a dolphin. Mason loved animals, especially his dogs Rocco and Bruno and always said he wanted to become a marine biologist when he grew up .In the last few years, Mason faced his challenges positively and bravely and became an inspiration to all whom his life touched. He loved life and encouraged all of those around him. Mason had an amazing presence and strength which shone brightly for all to see. He never gave up hope and always stayed positive right to the end. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at Parkview Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be officiated by Father Carlos Jimenez on Wednesday, March 23rd, and will be held at Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St. North, Moose Jaw, at 2:00 p.m. with an interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
