August 25, 1956-July 11, 2009. Carl passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer. He moved from P.E.I. to Calgary, Alberta in 1974 and worked with his brothers at the family trucking business. Carl loved the outdoors and spent many sunny afternoons lake canoeing. He was an avid curler and also a strong supporter of the Al-Azhar Shrine Mounted Patrol, where he and Patricia lived and worked for the last fifteen years. Carl was predeceased by his father James Edward, brother Desmond and sister Noella of P.E.I. Carl leaves his wife of twenty two years, Patricia (nee Lowry), daughter Nicole and son-in-law Jason Prince, his mother Adeline Shepherd of Stratford, P.E.I.; brothers and sisters Ed (Diane), Gary, Donnie, Theresa (Paul) Butt all of Calgary, Joanne (Dan) Malone and Etta (Charlie) Reid both of P.E.I. Also mother-in-law Lillian (Dennis) McGuire, sisters-in-law Jean (Jerry) Bizot and Donna (Darrell) Smith all of AB, as well as nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. If desired memorial tributes may be made directly to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, AB, or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have since been completed in Alberta.
