Richard Gregor, age 63, of Crescent Street, Glace Bay, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Helen (Phalen) Gregor and the late Richard Gregor.
Bumper was employed at the coal piers, wash plant and later did construction work in the local area. He was a former member of the Tower Road Volunteer Fire Department.
Bumper enjoyed life to the fullest, he loved music, dancing, karaoke and playing darts.
He is survived by his common-law wife, Blanche Jackson; daughter, Elyse Gregor, Glace Bay and her boyfriend, Matt; two sisters, Sylvia MacKinnon, Lower Sackville, Marion (Danny) O’Neill, Milford, N.S.; and his best friend, Vernon MacLean, Glace Bay.
Also left to mourn his passing are his sister-in-law, Diane (Mike) McNeil, Glace Bay, goddaughter, Stephanie MacLean, Glace Bay; and his special little friend Tyler, his Yorkshire terrier.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home in Glace Bay. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Glace Bay.
As an expression of sympathy for Richard, donations in his memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
