A Memorial Service for Hazen L. Mooers of Hants Border, Kings Co., NS and formerly of Temperance Vale, NB was held at Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, Windsor, NS on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 with the Rev. Deborah Mosher officiating. Interment will be at a later date. For those who wish to make a donation a memory of Hazen, the family has suggested the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Hazen was born on March 24, 1932, in Temperance Vale, York Co., NB, a son of the late Fred and Ada (MacFarlane) Mooers. He retired from Canadian Keyes Fibre in Hantsport. He was a former resident of Cambridge, ON. Hazen passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS with his family by his side. Surviving are his wife of forty-six years the former, Rita (Mosher) (Winter); stepson, Garnet (Chris) Winter and his children, Tony and Teresa, of Cambridge, ON; stepdaughter, Margaret Young and her children, Ryan, Lance and Samson, of Windsor, NS; sisters, Isabelle Grant and Luella Moorecroft (James), both of Temperance Vale, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Hazen was predeceased by brothers, Edison Mooers and Lee Mooers; sisters, Hilda Monteith and Evelyn Marney.
