Edith Doiron

The death of Mrs. Edith E. Doiron, wife of the late Ernest J. Doiron, occurred on March 19, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Chatham on October 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Octave and Amanda (Savoie) Lozier. Edith moved to Saint John in 1933. She was a member of the Golden Oldies Bowling League, a member of the Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Society, and a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. She is survived by one son Richard (Audrey) Doiron of Saint John, six daughters; Anita (Claude) Gionet, Nauwigewauk, Anne Marie (Dale) Essensa, Sask., Jacqueline (Murray) Winchester, B.C., Linda (Wayne) Bailey, Grand Bay-Westfield, Claudette (Doug) Ross, Grand Bay- Westfield, Theresa (Kevin) Bogle, Cambridge Narrows, three half sisters; Mamie Desjardins, Lachine, P.Q., Grand Bay - Westfield, Jeanette Raymond) Dobbelstyn, Saint John, Eileen (George) Juliano, Mass, USA, two half-brothers; Alex Lozier, Saint John, Frank (Myra) Lozier, Ont., 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest, sister Rita O'Regan and half-brother Edward Lozier.
Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Thursday at 12 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edith to the Canadian Cancer Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Assumption Building Fund or Bobby's Hope House would be appreciated by her family.
