At the Grand Falls General Hospital, March 20, 2011, Mr. Bernard J. Savage of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 86 years. He was married to the former Marie-Reine Godbout. Born at Edmundston in 1925, he was a son of the late Herman J. and Alma (Toner) Savage. He is survived by his wife, six children, Burton (Barbara) of Kingston, Ontario, Lorraine Luff (Bill) of Lower Sackville, NS, Kathryn Lynch (Brian) of Saint John, Keith (Annette), Verne (Louise) and Blair (Florence "Coune") of Grand Falls, grandchildren, Aaron and Rina Savage, Scott Luff and Michelle Quirion, Kari-Anne and Mark Lynch, Danny and Jonathan Savage, Denise Léger and Paul Savage, Ben and Tim Savage, great grandchildren, Emma and Nicholas Luff, Maxime and Marie-Chantal Léger, Mason Savage, Isabelle Quirion, brothers and sisters, Sister Catherine Savage of the Congregation of Sisters of Charity of Saint John, Ivan (Rebecca) of Grand Falls, Lourdes Murray (late Bill) of Dryden, Ontario, Leigh (Daisy) of Île-Perreault, Québec, Gilman of Grand Falls and Robert T. "Bob" (Connie) of Calgary, Alberta, brother-in-law, Bill Adams of BC, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Chantal Savage, one sister, Doranne Adams.
Resting at O’Regan’s Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. His funeral service will be held Thursday, March 24th at 11 a.m. from the Saint-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
