Frank Lawley Carver

Frank Lawley Carver died peacefully at the age of 97 on March 11, 2011, at the Prince Edward Home of the Hospice Association of P.E.I. Charlottetown.
He is survived by his children Jill Fowlie, Judy Roberts, Julian Carver and Jeremy Carver, daughter-in-laws Heather Brooks-Hill, Cynthia Carver, his 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the Home Care staff and volunteers who enabled him to remain at home until about two weeks before his death. We would also like to thank the staff and volunteers of the Hospice for the loving care they gave Frank in the last 13 days of his life.
A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends on March 24, at the Prince Edward Home Hospice at 7 p.m.
Born in August, 21, 1913 in Dover, England to Frank and Edith Nellie Carver nee Smith. Frank married Brenda Marsh in 1936 and pursued a career as a teacher. Called up in 1939 he served in France, India and Burma, retired with the rank of Major and returned to teaching. In 1953, Frank and Brenda took a brave step of emigrating to Canada where he became a Master at the Lakeshore Teachers College.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Frank’s name to the following charities that he supported; Care, Cuso, Oxfam and the War Amps.
