The death of Dorothy MacPhee, age 70, of Springhill, occurred on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Rhoda (McNeil) Ryan.

During her working years she was employed as a child care worker with The Ginger Bread Daycare and later with Oxford Frozen Foods. In her early years she played softball and remained an avid sports fan who enjoyed curling, bowling and watching hockey and soccer, playing bingo, going to Bev's cottage, morning tea with Rosemary and playing cards at Spike's. Her greatest pleasure was watching her sons and grandsons play hockey and her granddaughter Shelby figure skate.

She will be sadly missed by sons, Robert (Kelly) and Todd (Paula) both of Springhill; grandchildren, Shelby, Justus, Jerico and Jaeden; brother, John "Jack" (Beverly) Ryan, Economy; special cousins, Beverly (Jerry) White and Rosemary (Joe) Harrison, both of Springhill; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902 597 2361) where a time of visitation and reflection was held from 6 - 9 pm Thursday, March 24, 2011. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date.
