BLACKWOOD, Bertram– Passed peacefully away on March 25, 2011 at the Health Science Center, surrounded by his loving family, Bert Blackwood, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his son Jerry. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife of 59 years Marie; sons Bill (Gayle), Lloyd (Beverly); four grandchildren, who he adored, Jerry (Stephanie), Nicolle Garrett (Jason), Haley and Sarah; three great-grandchildren Abigail, Cole and Dominic; sisters Breta, Minnie and Shirley and his brother Cecil; as well as a circle of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place from The Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 28th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
