The passing of John “Jack” Michael Smith CD. of Saint John husband of his best friend, his wife Claudia (Wells) Smith of 42 years occurred on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his residence. Born February 6, 1944 in Chatham, NB a son of Marion F. (Gouchie) and the late Harold M. Smith. Jack served as an administrator for the Canadian Forces for 30 years, as well as an administrator for The Commissionaires for 16 years. Besides his mother Marion and wife Claudia, he is survived by a daughter Carrie Kyle (Terry) of PEI, a son Kevin of Saint John, brothers, Ron (Kate), Greg and Rick all of Calgary, sisters Gail Starratt (Ed) of Calgary, and Connie Henderson of Raleigh, NC, grandchildren, Jackson Kyle and Ashley Voutour, aunts, uncles, cousins, several nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his father-in-law, Claude Wells and mother-in-law Ethel Wells.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 10:00 am. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Private family interment to take place at a later date.
