Emile LeBlanc

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emile LeBlanc, on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Villa Providence Home, Shediac with his family by his side, at the age of 93 years. Born October 19, 1917 in Shediac, he was the son of the late Edmond and Arzélie (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Emile was as a shoe maker for 76 years and was the proprietor and operator of LeBlanc Shoe Repair in Shediac. He was a founding member of the Coopérative de Shediac, a past director of the Caisse Populaire de Shediac, Shediac Citizen of the Year in 1993 and a past volunteer with the Saint Joseph Parish for 50 years. He will be remembered as a well respected member of his religious community. Emile will be greatly missed by his loving family, four daughters: Noëlla Leeman of Winnipeg, Marie St. Hilaire, Diane Bourgeois (Daniel) and Jeannette Luce (Donald) all of Shediac; six sons: Edmond (Irène), Guy (May), Joseph "Joe" (Louise) all of Shediac, Edouard "Ned" (Joanna) of Grand Barachois, Claude (Manon) of Montréal, Marc (Sally) of Medicine Hat; three sisters: Léona Bourgeois, Juliette Godbout and Camilla Horn all of Shediac; 20 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn several step brothers and step sisters: Aimé LeBlanc (Pauline), Noël LeBlanc (Eola), Sr. Alphonsine LeBlanc, n.d.s.c. and Sr. Marie-Thérèse LeBlanc, n.d.s.c., Rita Maillet (Georges); a daughter-in-law Jeanne LeBlanc (late Albert "Barr") of Shediac, and by many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Obeline (Richard) LeBlanc (1998), a son Albert "Barr", a grandson Richard, two brothers: Joseph and Léo, two sisters: Phyllis and Thérèse; two step-brothers: Jean and Gérard and by two step-sisters: Marguerite, Olive.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. Interment in the parish cemetery.
