Buchans, aged 72. Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit in St. John’s surrounded by his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth & David. Leaving with many fond memories his loving wife Josephine (nee Lyver) and children Sean (Charmaine); Tracey (Jeff); Danielle (Colin) and Darrin (Virginia); as well as his grandchildren Tiffany, Charlee, Mallary, Amanda, McKeegan, and Walter James, and his great-grandson Jakob. He will be missed by his two sisters Helen (Hugh) Wadden and Frances (Bob) O’Toole, and two brothers Kevin (Ruth) and David (Elaine), and a large circle of other family and friends. Giving to the very end, he donated his body to Memorial University for medical research. A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 2 at St. Theresa’s Church in Buchans. Donations to the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Center may be made in lieu of flowers.
