Annie May Neville, age 93, passed away quietly at the Glades Lodge in Halifax on March 27, 2011, with Jim and Raina by her side.
She was the daughter of the late John R. and Esther (Jobe) Morrison.
Annie was predeceased by her husband, Jimmie; daughter, Virginia and stepdaughter, Esther.
She is survived by her sons, Jim (Raina) and Jack (Adele); stepsons, Sander (Marie) and Gordon; granddaughters, Karen McNeil, Cathy Mountford, Virginia McIntyre, Lisa and Michael Neville and grandson, James Neville; great-granddaughters, Caitlen, Nadera and Ashley; great-grandson Conor.
Annie lived her whole life in Glace Bay and thought it the best place on earth. Her summer months were spent at Irish Cove at her bungalow. Annie, after retirement from St. Joseph’s Hospital, was actively involved with St. Vincent DePaul charity and the Catholic Women’s League of her parish church, St. Anne’s. She spent many hours as a volunteer helping others, well into her 80s.
Special thanks to her dear friend Arlene McIntyre for her kindness and friendship to Ma.
A wake will be held today (Wednesday) from 6-9 p.m., in Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Her funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church, with Rev. Leo Boone officiating.
