Alice Batten

(1922-2011) - REXTON, NB - It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Alice Batten at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home on March 29, 2011. Born in Clair Fontaine, she was the daughter of the late William and the late Celina (Daigle) Nowlan. Alice was a hairdresser for over 30 years. Her favorite pastime was going camping and finishing with her husband George. Alice will be sadly missed by her daughter; Laurette Hebert of St. Louis, her three grandchildren; Sandra Fraize (Brian) of Petawawa, Ontario, Gary Poirier of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Linda Clutchey (Richard) of Victoria, B.C., three great grandchildren; Jennifer Forbes of Courtney, B.C., Brett MacCormic of P.E.I. and Ashley Clutchey of Victoria, B.C., one sister Marie Vizzaccerrow (late Henry) of Richibucto, also several nieces and nephews and friends. Alice was predeceased by her husband; George Batten, two sons; Alonzo (age 4) and Zoé (age 2), one sister; Melinda and three brothers; Alec, Firmin and Joe, one step sister; Suzanne, one step brother; Leandre.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of funeral. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception R. C. Church, Rexton. Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
