Leo Raymond Costello

Leo Costello passed to his eternal home on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, in his 85th year, after a long illness. He was born in Green Bay, P.E.I., on July 27, 1926, the son of Pope Costello and Mae Walsh.
Leo will be sadly and lovingly remembered by his wife, Edith (Kelly); daughter, Debbie (Gabby) Kubesheskie, Hamilton; son, Paul (Heather), Brantford, Ont.; two grandchildren, Mike (Cindy), Julie (Ryan), Hamilton; five great-grandchildren, Brody, Maddex, Emily, Katie and Grace; sisters, Sally Robertson, Joan (George) Monaghan and brother, Brendon, Charlottetown; sister, Emma Roberts, Wabush, NL; and brother, Bert, Oakville.
Leo was predeceased by his parents; brother, Robert, Winnipeg; and sisters, Dorothy McGarry and Etta Hilliard, Charlottetown.
The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Dominic Church, Oakville, Ont. Father Michael Anderson brought us all together in a holy, meaningful and beautiful celebration of Leo’s life. The harmonious voices of our Resurrection Choir were led by organist, Maureen Yates and cantor, Pat Hood. The many hymns concluded with Song of the Angels and Go Silent Friend.
Following the liturgy the large congregation gathered in the parish center for the reception and luncheon prepared by the Catholic Women’s League.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Oakview Funeral Home.
Leo is fondly remembered by his family, friends and acquaintances for his sense of humour, wit and the joy and laughter he brought to those who knew him.
