Dorothy Jeanne “Dott” White, 89, New Glasgow, formerly of Linacy, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou.
Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Richard and Sarah Jane (Hill) Stewart. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow. Dott will be remembered as a very compassionate person who enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her daughter, Jane (Bob) MacKay, Yellowknife; sons, Stewart White, Durham; Donnie (Adele) White, Durham; grandchildren, Danny (Carolyn), Debbie, Wendy, Sandra (Sheldon), Susan (Tim), Michael, Linda, Nicholas, Paul (Leann), April (Steve); great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jenna, Jamie, Troy, Tyler, Brandon, Jake, Lydia, Joseph, Jessie, Eric, Haley, Bauer, Layne, Sara and Steven
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer “Mike” White; sister, Emma Cheverie; brother, Irwin Stewart; daughter- in -law Betty White.
No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Father Peter MacDonald presiding. Cremation to follow.
