Helen Willena Hansford, New Glasgow:



Hansford, Helen Willena age 93 of New Glasgow formerly of Bridgeville passed away March 30, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Bridgeville she was a daughter of the late Newton and Jessie (Fraser) Himmelman. Helen had been a longtime resident of Bridgeville before moving to New Glasgow. She was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church where she was organist for 12 years and served as an Elder. Helen was also a member of the AMS and the Ladies Aid. Helen had worked in the office at Wear Well Garments for a number of years.

She is survived by her son Thomas “Tom” (Jeanette), Sunny Brae; grandchildren Darren (Laureen) Hansford and their son Peyton, Timberlea; granddaughter Julie Hansford (Kenny Bennett), Dartmouth; sister Frances Hansford, Bridgewater.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Harry, son Robert “Bobby”, brother Jim, sisters Adeline, Annie, Margaret and Grace.

Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday in St. Pauls Presbyterian Church with Rev. Susan Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Bridgeville Cemetery.
